How To Completely Remove Mozilla Firefox

One of the best browsers ever made is Mozilla Firefox. Its popularity is not surprising because it comes with numerous advantages, including easy control of data (bookmarks) and quick opening of the pages (thanks to caching). The most known reason for replacing this browser is famous error “Mozilla crash reporter” when in the middle of the work, Mozilla Firefox suddenly closes. But another reason is very reliable and convenient – Google Chrome. When you make a decision, the next step is to remove Mozilla Firefox and it turns out that it’s not an easy procedure. This guide will show you how to completely remove Mozilla Firefox.

How to completely remove Mozilla Firefox

To remove Mozilla Firefox follow these instructions:

Step 1: Remove the browser using “Programs and Features” in Control Panel

Go along the path Start < Control Panel < Programs and Feature. Find Mozilla Firefox and click on “Uninstall” with a right mouse button. As a result, the browser will be removed.

Tip! If necessary, remove the folder located at C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox.

Also, check if the profiles and personal data has been removed. If not, delete the following folders in Windows 10: \Users\Username\AppData\Local\Mozilla

Step 2: Cleaning the registry

Computer Registry – a database where the addresses and parameters files are located. And, of course, a small part of the Mozilla Firefox data remained in it. The following directories should be deleted:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxHTML;

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mozilla;

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MozillaPlugins;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins.

Other ways:

Click on “Search” and type “Run” in it. Open “Run” and type % APPDATA% and press Enter. After that, find the folder Mozilla and delete it.

Using other programs

There are a number of programs that can easily remove Mozilla Firefox. One of the easiest is CCleaner – which will remove everything, including the cache and the registry.
