LG G Watch Doesn’t Support Wi-Fi Feature Which Comes With the Latest Android Wear Update

The latest Android Wear update brings many new features which will make the entire experience much simpler. Some of the features are always-on apps, draw an emoji, ability to check news and notifications with wrist gestures, and Wi-Fi support which is considered as the most significant one. However, the Wi-Fi feature will be an option only on compatible smartwatches.

From the moment the news about the update were published on the Google official blog, the main question was, which smartwatches are supporting Wi-Fi feature, and which doesn’t. One day later, we know a bit more.

One of the smartwatches which does not support Wi-Fi is LG G Watch. This watch was launched a year ago, and it has 512MB of RAM, 4 GB storage, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 1.65 inch display, but it doesn’t have Wi-Fi.

At least, the smartwatch will get other features the update brings, such as draw an emoji, always-on apps, and more. Other LG watches, such as Watch Urbane, and G Watch R will support Wi-Fi.

What about other companies?

Sony and Motorola confirmed that both watches, Sony SmartWatch 3, and Moto 360 will support the new Wi-Fi feature. Also, Samsung Gear Live, and Asus ZenWatch have the needed hardware, and they will be able to support Wi-Fi feature.

The Android Wear 5.1 update definitely brings many interesting and fun things which will enhance the entire smartwatch experience.
