The Vibration Not Working On Samsung Galaxy S21 5G – How to fix it

You will find some simple and highly effective solutions below. You are going to start with the simplest one, and if that doesn’t work, move to those that are a bit more complex. If nothing seems to be working, it could be a hardware-related problem. Do not try to fix it on your own. If that’s the case, take your device to the Samsung repair center. Now, let’s move to the solutions.

Restart your phone

Whenever you encounter an issue when using your smartphone or any other device, the best place to start is by restarting it. It’s often all you need to do, and things will go back to normal. So, a restart should always come first. Give it a shot.

Turn the vibration off and back on

Here is another simple trick that may work. Slide two fingers downwards from the top of the screen, and you will see a couple of options there. Tap on the “Sound” option a couple of times to turn the vibration off. Tap on “Sound” again to enable it.

Sound & Vibration settings

Next, head over to Settings > Sound and vibration. Tap on the Vibration pattern, and choose the one that you like. Another thing to do is to tap on Vibration intensity and select the level that works for you.

Apps

If you noticed that vibration is not working only for one of the apps, it means you need to adjust notifications. Changing that is pretty simple. Go to Settings > Apps. Find the app and tap on it. Allow the notifications. The vibration should start working now.

Update the software

It is essential to keep the software up to date. When the phone misbehaves, check if there is a new software version. Go to Settings > Software Update and tap Download and install.

Safe mode

A third-party app can create a problem, and the best way to check if that’s the case is to boot the phone into safe mode. If the phone works fine, one of the apps is responsible for the vibration issues. You will have to remove the apps one by one. If that’s too much work, you can perform a factory data reset. But, before that, here is how to boot the phone into safe mode:

  • Press and hold power off button
  • When the power off icon appears on the screen, press and hold it until you see Safe mode.
  • Tap on Safe mode.

Now start using the phone in this mode to see if it works normally. When you are ready to exit, restart your smartphone the usual way.

Factory data reset

Before moving to the factory data reset steps, make sure you create a backup. Factory reset will delete everything you have on your phone. When the backup is created, do the following:

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap General Management
  • Now tap Reset and then tap on Factory Data Reset
  • Tap Reset

The process may need some time. Once it is completed, follow the on-screen guide and set up your S21 5G as a new device.
