What to do if you lost your Android device? Google it!

At least once, we all have been in the same situation with no idea where our phone is. Then you start searching around your house, car or bag, often panicking. Now, you can simply Google it! Yes, you read it right.

The new feature called “Find my phone” was revealed earlier today, and in case you have lost your Android phone or tablet, you can start the search.

Find my phone

How does it work? Everything is pretty simple.

If you don’t have it already, make sure to install the latest version of Google app on your Android phone. Open the browser on your computer, and log in into the same Google account you are using on your smartphone, and type “Find my phone” into Google search. Google will display a map, and after a couple of seconds, you’ll see the location of your device. Then, you can choose between several options, such as Ring, Set up Lock & Erase.

The ring is ideal if you know your phone is around somewhere. Your phone will ring up to five minutes at the full volume. When you locate your device, in order to turn it off, press the power button. In case your device is stolen, Set up Lock & Erase is the solution, you’ll need Android Device Manager.

It’s a pretty cool feature!
